Water

Reverse Osmosis Filter

Waynoka's new reverse osmosis plant is complete!

Reverse osmosis cleans water by pushing it through a membrane that only the water can pass through. This process is called reverse osmosis because pressure forces the water to flow in the reverse direction of natural osmosis.  Natural osmosis starts with pure water on one side of a membrane and untreated water on the other side. The pure water will tend to move through the membrane to dilute the untreated water. In reverse osmosis, the untreated water is pushed through the membrane, purifying the water by leaving nitrates and other contaminants behind.

New Water Lines

Our next water project is to replace and upgrade about 3.5 miles of water lines in Waynoka. Lines will be increased in size to carry more water. Efficiency will be enhanced by establishing several loops in the system where dead ends now exist. Work began on this project during October.

Sewer

The City provides sewer service as part of the regular monthly utility bill.

Garbage

The City contracts garbage services with B&B Sanitation. Each utility customer uses a poly cart for trash pickup. Commercial customers may use larger dumpsters.

Items too large for residential poly carts can be taken to the City's "dump." It isn't really a dump; it's a group of roll-off dumpsters. For $5 per pickup load, any Waynoka utility customer can take trash items to the "dump". The key is available at City Hall during regular business hours. Please, please, please help us to keep this area usable and safe by putting all items into the dumpsters!

Electric

Electric service is also provided by the City of Waynoka. All municipal utility fees are combined into a single, convenient monthly bill.

Streets

The City of Waynoka is responsible for 16.5 miles of city streets. In accordance with the state laws, Waynoka does not maintain the streets directly, but works with Woods County for maintenance.

Cemetery

Waynoka also maintains a municipal cemetery.
