Electrical Upgrade 2010

Monday, November 1, 2010

Good news for the citizens of Waynoka, we have completed phase one of our electric upgrade. Beginning November 2, 2010 at 9:00 AM we begin the next phase of the upgrade. The electric upgrade will be from east Broadway to Lincoln St. and should only be off for a maximum of 8 hrs. We will do our best to keep Waynoka informed of the path the upgrade takes and who will be affected by the outages. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Monday, October 4, 2010

This week the electrical construction will be concentrated from the City's Utility Shop west along Broadway and north to Santa Fe Park. They will also be working in the area south of Broadway, east of Flynn, north of Santa Fe Street and west of Lincoln Street. Schedules for outages will be posted on the City's website. Door notices will be hung to give citizens more detailed information of work in their areas as work gets closer to their location. Please check the City's website daily as schedules can change daily due to material, weather and the type of work needed to complete the change in voltage. See map for more details. View Map

The City of Waynoka will be starting the Electrical Upgrade to your system on September 27. The preliminary starting point will be in the alley north of Ash Street, south of Locust Street, west of Church Street, and east of Murrow Street. Notices of outages will be advertised in Woods County Enterprise or on door notices for those, whose service will be turned off the next day.

The City would like to thank everyone for their patience and cooperation during the coming weeks. Construction is scheduled to take 13 weeks and include all sections of our system. There will be a variety of outages in different areas. Outages can range from a few minutes to a couple of hours. The City and the C & H Power Lines, will be working together to make the outages as short as possible.

At the beginning of the project the outages will be mostly a few houses at a time. Then several blocks will be changed over. This will take a little longer than the changing of the houses. Finally the whole city will be changed over. This will take a few hours to make the final change over. Again, we thank the citizens of Waynoka for their support in improving their electrical system.
